This Acceptable Use Policy outlines the rules and guidelines for using Calliope AI’s services. All users must comply with this policy. Violations may result in immediate suspension or termination of your account without refund.

1. Introduction

This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) governs your use of Calliope Labs Inc’s services (operating under the product name “Calliope AI”), including JunoHub, APIs, and related platforms (collectively, the “Services”). This AUP is incorporated into and forms part of the Terms of Service .

By using the Services, you agree to comply with this AUP. We may update this AUP from time to time, and your continued use of the Services constitutes acceptance of any changes.

Violation of this AUP may result in immediate suspension or termination of your account without refund.

2. Universal Prohibitions

You may not use the Services to engage in, facilitate, promote, or support any of the following activities:

2.1 Illegal Activities

  • Any activity that violates applicable local, state, national, or international laws
  • Fraud, money laundering, or financial crimes
  • Tax evasion or circumvention of financial regulations
  • Trafficking of illegal goods or services
  • Gambling in jurisdictions where prohibited

2.2 Violence and Terrorism

  • Planning, promoting, or glorifying violence against individuals or groups
  • Terrorism or terrorist financing
  • Weapons development, including chemical, biological, radiological, or nuclear weapons
  • Instructions for creating weapons, explosives, or other dangerous materials
  • Recruitment for violent extremist organizations

2.3 Child Safety Violations

  • Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) of any kind
  • Sexual exploitation, grooming, or endangerment of minors
  • Content that sexualizes minors in any way
  • Facilitation of any harm to children

We have zero tolerance for child safety violations. Any suspected violations will be reported to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and appropriate law enforcement authorities.

2.4 Harassment and Hate

  • Harassment, bullying, stalking, or intimidation of individuals
  • Hate speech targeting protected characteristics (race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, etc.)
  • Doxxing or sharing private information without consent
  • Threats of violence or physical harm
  • Coordinated harassment campaigns

2.5 Privacy Violations

  • Unauthorized collection or harvesting of personal data
  • Creation or distribution of non-consensual intimate imagery (NCII)
  • Invasion of privacy or surveillance without consent
  • Circumvention of privacy protections or anonymity tools

2.6 Security Attacks

  • Unauthorized access to computer systems or networks
  • Distribution of malware, viruses, or malicious code
  • Denial-of-service (DoS) attacks or attempts to disrupt services
  • Phishing, social engineering, or credential theft
  • Exploitation of security vulnerabilities for malicious purposes
  • Cryptomining without explicit authorization

2.7 Fraud and Deception

  • Impersonation of individuals, organizations, or AI systems
  • Creation of fraudulent documents, credentials, or identities
  • Scams, confidence schemes, or deceptive practices
  • Generation of fake reviews, testimonials, or endorsements
  • Market manipulation or securities fraud

2.8 Spam and Abuse

  • Sending unsolicited bulk communications
  • Automated scraping in violation of robots.txt or terms of service
  • Manipulation of search rankings or algorithmic systems
  • Creation of fake accounts or bot networks

3. AI-Specific Prohibitions

The following activities are specifically prohibited when using AI models through the Services:

3.1 Model Misuse

  • Training competing AI models using outputs from Third-Party Model Providers
  • Reverse engineering, extracting weights, or attempting to replicate AI models
  • Bypassing, disabling, or circumventing AI safety measures
  • Jailbreaking prompts designed to elicit prohibited content
  • Prompt injection attacks to manipulate AI behavior
  • Using outputs to create training data that violates model provider terms

3.2 Prohibited AI Applications

  • Fully autonomous weapons systems or lethal autonomous weapons
  • Mass surveillance systems targeting specific demographics
  • Social scoring systems for government use
  • Manipulation of democratic processes or elections
  • Generation of deepfakes for deception or fraud

3.3 Harmful Content Generation

  • Generation of CSAM or content sexualizing minors
  • Non-consensual intimate imagery or deepfake pornography
  • Detailed instructions for violence, self-harm, or dangerous activities
  • Misinformation designed to cause public harm
  • Content that exploits vulnerable individuals

4. High-Risk Use Requirements

Certain applications of AI require additional safeguards. If you use the Services for any of the following purposes, you must implement appropriate human oversight:

4.1 Medical and Health

  • AI outputs related to medical diagnosis, treatment, or health advice must be reviewed by qualified healthcare professionals before acting upon
  • You may not use the Services as a substitute for professional medical advice
  • AI-generated health information must be clearly disclosed as such
  • AI outputs related to legal matters must be reviewed by qualified legal professionals
  • You may not represent AI-generated legal content as professional legal advice
  • Users must be informed when AI is used in legal contexts

4.3 Financial Decisions

  • AI outputs informing financial decisions (investments, loans, credit) must have human oversight
  • Fully autonomous trading systems must implement appropriate risk controls
  • AI-generated financial advice must be disclosed as such

4.4 Employment and HR

  • AI-assisted hiring, firing, or performance evaluation must include human review
  • Decisions affecting employment must not be made solely by AI
  • Candidates and employees must be informed of AI involvement

4.5 Disclosure Requirements

When using AI-generated content in contexts where users might reasonably expect human-created content, you must:

  • Clearly disclose that AI was used in the creation process
  • Not represent AI-generated content as human-created
  • Comply with applicable disclosure laws and regulations

5. Content Distribution Rules

5.1 AI Content Disclosure

When distributing AI-generated content to the public, you must:

  • Clearly label or disclose that the content was AI-generated
  • Not misrepresent AI outputs as human-created works
  • Comply with platform-specific rules for AI content

5.2 Scale Limitations

  • Automated posting of AI-generated content to more than 100 users without human review is prohibited
  • Bulk generation of content for spam or manipulation is prohibited
  • Rate limits and usage quotas must be respected

5.3 Synthetic Media Requirements

AI-generated or AI-modified audio, video, or images (“synthetic media”) must:

  • Be clearly labeled or watermarked when distributed publicly
  • Not be used to deceive viewers about the authenticity of content
  • Comply with applicable synthetic media laws and platform policies

6. Third-Party Model Terms

Your use of AI models through the Services is subject to the terms and policies of the respective Third-Party Model Providers. You are responsible for reviewing and complying with these terms.

7. Age Restrictions

7.1 Platform Age Requirement

The Services are intended for users 18 years of age or older. By using the Services, you represent that you are at least 18 years old.

7.2 Minor Restrictions

  • You may not use the Services to create applications or services directed at users under 18 without appropriate safeguards
  • Certain AI models (including Google Gemini) prohibit use in applications for minors
  • You are responsible for implementing age verification if your application may be used by minors

8. Enforcement

8.1 Monitoring

We may monitor use of the Services for compliance with this AUP using automated and manual methods. We are not obligated to monitor, but reserve the right to do so.

8.2 Enforcement Actions

If we determine that you have violated this AUP, we may take one or more of the following actions:

  1. Warning: Issue a warning requiring you to cease the prohibited activity
  2. Throttling: Reduce your access to Services or rate limits
  3. Suspension: Temporarily suspend your access to some or all Services
  4. Termination: Permanently terminate your account

8.3 Immediate Action

We may take immediate action without prior warning for:

  • Severe violations (child safety, violence, terrorism)
  • Imminent harm to Calliope AI, our users, or third parties
  • Legal requirements or law enforcement requests

8.4 No Refund for Violations

If your account is suspended or terminated for AUP violations, no refund will be provided for any prepaid fees.

8.5 Reporting to Authorities

We may report suspected illegal activity to appropriate law enforcement authorities, including but not limited to:

  • NCMEC for suspected child exploitation
  • FBI for suspected terrorism or national security threats
  • Relevant regulatory bodies for financial crimes

9. Reporting Violations

If you become aware of any violation of this AUP, please report it to:

  • Description of the violation
  • Relevant usernames, URLs, or identifiers
  • Evidence or documentation (screenshots, logs, etc.)
  • Your contact information (optional but helpful)

We take all reports seriously and will investigate promptly. Reporter identities are kept confidential to the extent permitted by law.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this AUP to reflect changes in our Services, legal requirements, or industry practices. Material changes will be communicated via email or through the Services. Your continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated AUP.
